Gasp. It’s been a wild year. You know the kind, maybe yours was like that too. Over the years, my go-to line has been, “The years go by quickly, it’s the days that are endless.” The days of raising children, working, volunteering, and living fills our days beyond measure. Pressed for time, energy and inspiration, I often have to do something drastic to let it all sink in. Go to my office on the weekend when no one is there, jump on a plane, arrive earlier than I need to and hide out in a hotel room for hours. At the moment, I’m on a plane. And, so while I love ending the year to begin anew, I need to reflect on this year’s significant milestones and consider their impact.

Our youngest daughter graduated from college; no more tuition, alleluia

Our middle daughter received her personal training certificate; marketable skills and learning create opportunity

Our oldest daughter married; our family expanded, and we’re grateful

We launched in:side, our learning platform and membership site; three years later it’s seeing the light of day

We doubled the size of our team; there is nothing like high-contributors who get the vision and dive right in

Our current team continually rose to the occasion even when deluged with work

We proved once again that doing good work outperforms social influence; revenue reached a new high

On my part, I’ve resolved to execute the plan and not be distracted, or worse, disrupted by shiny objects (apps, ideas, people or processes)

Along the way was it a bit bumpy? You bet. And while that frustrates me to no end, I recognize the bumps give us the chance to refine the process, go deeper, strategize and emerge stronger. If you experienced a bump or two, our apologies. We’re committed to working with clients who are committed to expanding and mastering their personal brands, networks, and opportunities in a meaningful way. We always have been, and that will not change.

And, as we customarily do, we will make a donation to a local charity or two on behalf of our clients. Every year we go to Valley View Farms on Christmas Eve morning to celebrate the season and experience WBAL’s broadcasts for their Coats for Kids Campaign. This year, I think we’ll add Itineris to our giving. If you don’t know Itineris, please check them out. We are advocates for them and their mission.

However you celebrate, celebrate well.

2019 will be here before we know it. Cheers and thanks for your ongoing support of our small and mighty team!
