I’ve been waiting for LinkedIn to update their Sales Navigator Inbox appearance and the day has come!! The Sales Navigator Inbox has a new look!

Goodbye, the days of having to google between “inbox” and “sent” to revisit the messages in chronological order. Hello, seeing all messages within the same message thread!!

The inbox looks more similar to your inbox with LinkedIn.com with all the messages you’ve sent or received appearing on the left-hand side. However, unlike your LinkedIn.com inbox, you have the ability to sort your inbox by “all messages,” “unread messages,” and “sent messages.” There is also an option to see your “pending” InMail messages. In LinkedIn.com, you can delete a conversation but once it is deleted, you won’t be able to see it again, whereas in Sales Navigator you can “archive” a conversation so you can easily revisit the conversations.

A new feature that is unique to the Sales Navigator inbox is the information LinkedIn provides to help you personalize your message. I highly recommend taking a look at the information before sending your message. The more personalized, the better.

Let’s take a look at the new and improved inbox!

You can see the “inbox,” “pending,” and “archived” categories. Looks similar to LinkedIn.com inbox, doesn’t it?

If you click on the drop-down arrow to the right of “all messages” under “inbox,” this drop down menu will appear. From here you can select and see all messages, unread messages, or sent messages.

To the left of the conversation, you can see the information LinkedIn provides to help you personalize your message. Colleen (these are screenshots from her profile) and Sarah are 1st Level Connections and Sarah is saved as a lead in Sales Navigator so there is more information provided than if Sarah was a 2nd or 3rd level connection and not saved as a lead.

LinkedIn will provide contact information if a 1st level connection, mutual connections, any other commonalities such as education, groups or location, and finally if saved as lead, LinkedIn will provide Sarah’s recent updates. Your messaging will be elevated significantly if you incorporate this information into your message.

Overall, I am really excited about this new look and it is a huge improvement compared to the old inbox. As always, there may be new changes or features in the future so stay tuned for updates!
