At 25, I decided I needed to explore a new career opportunity and path.

I jumped on my first job offer and landed my first job 24 hours after graduating.  And so, for the past three years, I have been an elementary school teacher. Life was great but during a conversation with one of my former college teammates and friend she started telling me about her new job at Intero Advisory. The more she talked, the more interesting it sounded. Whether in a classroom or on a Lacrosse field, coaching and training are what I’ve been doing for quite some time. The landscape looks different but the planning, strategy and standing out to win, it’s all the same.

Since joining the team at Intero (ah, the power of unintentional networking), I have been a part of many LinkedIn coaching sessions where I’ve learned the best ways to approach maximizing LinkedIn profiles, understanding networks, and LinkedIn best practice activities. I’ve taken all of this information and applied it to my profile and to the next level, as well.

Here are the top three benefits of working with our clients on their LinkedIn coaching needs:

1. We take the overwhelming, “I have no idea what button I’m pressing” anxiety away. Let’s face it, there are many LinkedIn features and buttons, most of which are beneficial and useful. But do we use all of them? Why do we use them?

That’s why we’re here. Having a coach allows you to take a deep breath and follow the leader (or in this case, professional).

2. We work at your pace. Luckily for me, I am a part of the “millennial generation” and technology is our friend. And still, I have questions.

Who should I be networking with and adding as connections?

Is my profile private?

How do I do message directly?

Should I post content on LinkedIn? What kind of content?

The list goes on.

Our team gets it. We want you to be comfortable so you can maximize LinkedIn for your objectives. Everyone learns at their pace and each coach works with you to create a great experience.

3. You see a difference after your session. We receive immediate feedback pretty quickly after a session, and I cannot express how many clients I was able to witness that have called or reached out within a half hour of their session so excited that they are making connections and receiving feedback based on their LinkedIn profile development. Our team wants to see you use LinkedIn effectively whether that’s for career opportunities, recruiting or sales.

One of LinkedIn’s greatest challenges is that it’s always changing.  So, you have to be on your toes and continually pay attention.

As coaches, we are continually learning and sharing. Six months ago, I didn’t realize how much there was to know about LinkedIn. Yet, I thought I knew all there was to know, but after working closely with my colleagues, now I’m ready to jump in and coach and train.
