2020: A Year of Grit, Dedication, and Achievements

Written by Colleen McKenna | Dec 16, 2020 6:00:00 AM

2020 has been a year filled with remarkable, unforgettable stories of loss and triumph. As I reflect on the year, I remind myself to think about what I accomplished. Then, I consider what we have achieved as a team. The grit and dedication humble me.

It’s easy to forget the positives, the accomplishments.

Some days it was a long walk, a glass of wine mid-week, one more virtual meeting, or listening to a book.

What I have found is that keeping the accomplishments in mind keeps me centered and encouraged.

I have written them down and revisit that page in my notebook often. It’s heartening to know that the list of positives exceeds the loss. And, we have lost family members, a beloved pet, and more. As my friend, Dean Minuto, says, “Everything is personal.” He is right.

Life is personal. How we live it out is personal.

If you haven’t already, think of all you have gained or have come to appreciate this year, write it down. Please post it in a place where you can see it. Relish the significance of each activity and positive action.

Here is what I have gained and have come to appreciate this year:

Say goodbye to 2020 and prepare for 2021 with a rested spirit and renewed purpose. My team and I wish you a wonderful holiday season. In your honor, we will, as we have in years past, donate to two local causes that serve children and families in Baltimore and beyond; WBAL Radio Coats for Kids and Grace Fellowship Church’s Waymaker programs. Contributing always makes a difference.

Wishing you and yours the very best,

Colleen, Sydney, Liza, Sarah, Jim, Meredith and Iliana
